before the Trumpet looked like it looks today, it when through many steps. the Trumpet works by the same physics a shofar works on. a shofar is a rams horn that people blow into to make a noise. a rams horn was the first example of a trumpet. over time, people decided to use the physics of a shofar to make an intrument. that was how the first trumpet was made. originally, the trumpet did not have any keys. people played by adjusting there lips and by blowing harder and softer. then, two keys were added to the trumpet to adjust the pitch. eventually people added three keys to the trumpet and learned to play with out adjusting there lips and by pressing the keys. even today, a trumpet still works just the way a shofar works.
