The adrenal glands belong to the endocrine organ system. This system is comprised of different glands in the body including (but not limited to) the thyroid gland, the parathyroid glands, the adrenal glands, the pituitary gland, the gonads as well as the pancreas. The adrenal glands are located on top of each kidney, deep in the abdomen.
The organ system that consists of hormone-secreting glands, such as the pituitary gland and the thyroid gland, is known as the endocrine system. The endocrine system also consists of the following glands: pineal gland, pancreas, ovaries, testes, parathyroid gland, hypothalamus and adrenal glands.

The adrenal gland secretes epinephrine--also known as adrenalin.
