obligate aerobes.
Animals need a continuous supply of oxygen because it obtains energy from their food. To acquire such energy from food, cells in animals require a steady supply of ATP in order to function. To produce this ATP, cellular respiration requires oxygen. Without ATP, cells and the organism will die so therefore, animals need a continuous supply of oxygen to survive.
Nerve cells receive blood and oxygen through a network of small blood vessels called capillaries. These capillaries are located close to nerve cells in order to deliver nutrients and oxygen for their metabolic needs. The brain, for example, has a dense network of capillaries to ensure a constant supply of blood and oxygen to nerve cells.
The brain needs so much blood because it needs a constant supply of it to keep up with the neurons metabolic demands. 20 percent of the blood that comes from the heart is pumped directly to the brain.
fishes take in water and remove oxygen from it.....thats how they breathe....
They are important because you need both in order to live. Lungs supply oxygen to breath and your heart supplies out oxygen to your body in order to survive.
the heart receives glucose and oxygen in the blood pumped through
below the water table pssshhh noob
Oxygen can just diffuse directly into the unicellular organism. The same diffusion occurs in a multicellular organism, but the respiratory system has to get the oxygen close to the target cells in order for the oxygen to diffuse. But if there's only one cell to supply oxygen to, no respiratory system is needed.
Well the light reactions produce oxygen gas which will affect our supply of oxygen gas.The oxygen gas is produced when the hydrogen atoms of the water molecules lose their electrons to photosystem 2 and the oxygen atom cannot exist on its own and must be diatomic in order to achieve octet configuration
Your body needs a continuous supply of oxygen due to the biochemical process of aerobic cellular respiration. During the last stage, called the electron transport chain, electrons are transferred along a series of chemicals called electron acceptors. As this occurs, energy is given off to produce molecules of ATP, the energy storage molecule of living things. Oxygen is the last electron acceptor, and once it gains the electrons it bonds with hydrogen to form water, removing the oxygen from the electron transport chain. If a new oxygen atom does not take its place immediately, the electron transport chain shuts down, and your cells will not be able to produce enough ATP to fuel their cellular processes, and they will die, and so will you. So you need a constant supply of oxygen in order to keep the electron transport chain working and producing enough energy (stored in ATP) for survival.
The coronary blood supply is the arteries which supply the heart itself; in order for the heart to function it needs a good supply of oxygen just the same as any other organ/muscle. Without the coronary blood supply the heart would not be able to pump blood around the body, a disruption in this blood supply would cause a heart attack.
