The European Union (EU) cooperates with a wide range of international partners, including non-EU countries, international organizations, and regional entities. Key partners include the United States, Canada, and Japan, as well as neighboring countries through its European Neighborhood Policy. The EU also engages with global organizations such as the United Nations, World Trade Organization, and NATO to address issues like trade, security, climate change, and human rights. Additionally, the EU collaborates with developing countries through various aid programs and initiatives.

North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and European Union (EU)
The European Union (EU) is one of the largest political and economic organizations in Europe, encompassing 27 member states. In terms of economic size, the EU collectively has one of the largest economies in the world, surpassing that of many individual countries, including the United States and China. Other significant organizations in Europe include the Council of Europe and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), but they do not match the EU's scale and influence.
The creation of the European Union (EU) was primarily influenced by earlier organizations such as the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), established in 1951 to promote economic cooperation and prevent conflict, and the European Economic Community (EEC), formed in 1957 to foster economic integration among member states. These initiatives aimed to enhance political stability and economic collaboration in post-World War II Europe. Over time, these organizations evolved and expanded, ultimately leading to the establishment of the EU in 1993 with the Maastricht Treaty.
French is an offcial language in all of the European organisations (EU council, EU commission and parliament), one of the official languages in the United Nations and its agencies, and (at least I think so) in the African Union Organisation.
