Each manufacturer uses there own series of engines and use different engines for different applications. Also as technology progresses they may change the type of engine they use from one year to the next. Also note the correct way to spell different.
The Fram PH3387A oil filter is commonly used with several General Motors engines, particularly those in the GM LS series, including the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L V8 engines. It is also compatible with some older GM small block V8 engines. Always verify specific vehicle compatibility and engine type for the best results.
Honda Civics do not have a interference engine. These cars use non-interference engines which means the pistons and valve have space between each other when the engine is operational. COMPLETELY wrong. D-series motors ARE INTERFERENCE MOTORS.

In a word. Nothing. As long as it has the "H" badge on it there's nothing bad about it at all. The K series (2.0 2.4 etc) engines are bigger than the D (1.5 1.6 etc) or the B (1.6 1.8...) series. I think maybe the reason you've heard anything bad about the K series is probably because the 1.6 liter engines (B and D series) are known for their outstanding reliability and fuel economy. Hope this helps.
