Nervous system & muscular system:Impulses(nervous system) are sent from the brain to the muscles to carry out the respective actions. Voluntary actions include chewing of food while involuntary actions include peristalsis (wave-like contractions of the circular and longitudinal muscles to push the food) along the gullet/oesophagus. the muscular system takes up an amount of your body and mostly your weight. Exocrine system:Digestive juces which contain enzymes are secreted to digest the food. E.g. the pancreas secretes pencreatic juice which contains pancreatic lipase (digests lipids to fatty acids and glycerol), pancreatic amylase (digests starch to maltose), and trypsinogen (active form trypsin digests proteins to polypeptides). Circulatory system:When food has been digested, the nutrients are absorbed in the blood through the small intestine. The absorption of nutrients into the circulatory system allows body cells to get nutrients.
