There are quite a few. I'll give a quick summary of the ones I know, but for a better understanding of them, I'd look them up yourself.

Punctuated Equilibrium - Theory created by Niles Eldredge and Stephen Jay Gould. The theory explores how species do not change much over a long period called "Stasis" (roughly 3 million years). "Cladogenesis" is the occurrence of a species splitting, resulting in new species. Change only happens when there is a significant change in their environment. Changes are rapid, not gradual. Fossil records support this theory.

Alfred Wallace was the co-founder of Evolution though Natural Selection (Darwin's theory). Darwin was just published first. The theory is very similar to Darwin's but one of the main differences was that Wallace believed that complexity is evidence of design.

Jean Baptiste Lamarck developed a theory which people now refer to as Lamarckism. This theory says that all life started out simple but gradually changed due to what part of the body the organisms used.

Darwin's theory, Evolution by Natural Election - genetic change through sexual reproduction or competition. (Darwin didn't use "Survival of the fittest") Most changes are gradual.

Theodosius Dobzhansky developed the Synthetic Theory. This I believe was developed using a mix of theories.

There are many other theories but you'll need to do some investigation.

No, there are no other theories but the theory of evolution by natural selection that explain so much about evolution.

What was his theory of evolution?

The theory of evolution is that all living things come from other living things.

Why is evolution reffered to as a theory?

I don't exactly know why evolutionists refer to it as a theory, but I do know this. A theory is an explanation or model based on observation, experimentation, and reasoning. According to the definition of a theory, evolution is not a theory. Evolution cannot be based on observation. No one was here to observe it. So evolution should be classified as a hypothesis not a theory. It is only a guess as to how things came about.

What is the difference between theory of evolution and language evolution?

Theory of evolution refers to animals and plants evolution along the time. Language evolution is another issue, not entirely related to the theory of evolution. It follows the theory of evolution on some way but it is related to culture evolution, not to the physical attributes evolution.

What is the modern theory of evolution also known as?

The modern theory of evolution is also known as the synthetic theory of evolution or the modern synthesis. It combines Darwin's theory of natural selection with genetics and other fields of biology to explain how organisms evolve over time.

What cell theory contradicts evolution?

Cell theory does not contradict evolution. Cell theory states that all living organisms are composed of cells, while evolution explains how these cells and organisms change over time through the process of natural selection. Both concepts are supported by scientific evidence and are compatible with each other.

Is evolution a theory or hypothesis?

Evolution is an observed and observable fact. The theory of evolution by natural selection explains many things about evolution. The theory generates testable hypothesis, as any good theory does. Remember, theory is the highest concept in science.

How did Aristotle contribute to the theory of evolution?

Actually Aristotle wasn't known to contribute to the evolution theory as he didn't agree with most of the theories that were brought up by other philosophers. The only contribution he might have taken apart of was causing conflict between other philosophers and other theory discoveries.
