Father serra
Fr. Junipero Serra. He was the father of Alta California missions.
Father Serra never had an expedition. He was the leading priest that established the CA mission system. He wrote in a letter in 1869 that they treated visitors "with good will".
That is the correct spelling of "Father Serra" -- Junipero Serra (1713-1784) was a Franciscan friar and missionary who founded Mission San Carlos Borroméo de Carmelo in Spanish California (now Carmel, CA).
