The component with the highest resistance in a series circuit will have, or "drop" the most voltage across it. All of the components in a series circuit will have the same amount of current flowing through them but not the same voltage drops if the resistances are different. More resistance more voltage across it, less resistance, less voltage across it.

If you are referring to the flow of electric charges it is called electrical energy.

What is the purpose of capacitor in the circuit?

To store energy, in an electric field between separated charges. (An inductor stores energy in a magnetic field surrounding a current.)

What is voltage?

A type of "pressure" that drives electrical charges through a circuit. Voltage is how the electric potential energy differences are measured.

Why charges exit a circuit with less energy they had when they entered the circut?

How reactive power is utilised and returned to the circuit?

The energy is stored in an inductor in the form of magnetic field and in capacitor as electric charges. In both cases, as the current increase, according to its sine wave form, the flux or electric charges build up i.e energy being stored. As the current start dropping the field or electric charge start dropping too thus energy is being fed back into the circuit.

What device uses chemical energy to give charges electric potential energy?

The device that uses chemical energy to give charges electric potential energy is a battery because it uses chemical energy which gives off potential electric charges.
