The warmest part of Antarctica is the Antarctic Peninsula, with a balmy 1 to 2 degrees C, during the warmest month of January. Hot might not be the proper word to describe any of Antarctica's climate.
Trees and numerous other small plants are missing in Antarctica. For the most part, the Antarctic climate is much too cold and dry (and dark in the winter) for larger plants to survive.

For the most part, South Africa is dry, sunny, and warm. It's elevation and the fact that it has Ocean on three sides works to moderate it's temperatures.
