There is no such thing as Sodium Hydrochloric acid, but if you react Sodium metal with Hydrochloric acid, you will release hydrogen. The hydrogen comes from hydrochloric acid, which is HCl (hydrogen chloride.) Sodium is Na, just a pure element without any hydrogen in it. 2Na + 2HCl --> 2NaCl + H2 (gas) You don't need HCl to make hydrogen gas. Just tossing the sodium into water will release plenty of hydrogen (and some flames) and give a solution of sodium hydroxide in the water.

Sodium metals reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce salt and hydrogen gas what are the reactants in this chemical reaction?

The reactants in this reaction are sodium (Na) and hydrochloric acid (HCl).

What happens when sodium reacts with hydrochloric acid?

When sodium reacts with hydrochloric acid, it produces sodium chloride (table salt) and hydrogen gas. The reaction can be quite vigorous, with the release of heat and bubbling due to the formation of hydrogen gas.

What happend when Sodium chloride reacts with hydrochloric acid?

When sodium chloride reacts with hydrochloric acid, it forms sodium chloride solution. The hydrogen ions from the hydrochloric acid combine with the chloride ions from the sodium chloride, creating hydrochloric acid. Sodium ions remain in solution.

What gas is given off when hydrochloric acid is added to sodium?

When hydrochloric acid is added to sodium metal, hydrogen gas is evolved. This happens due to the reaction between the hydrochloric acid and sodium, resulting in the formation of hydrogen gas and sodium chloride.

What happens when you mix sodium and hydrochloric aci?

Hydrogen is released and sodium chloride&sodium hydroxide remain in solution.

Which is one is the redundant when sodium metal reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce salt and hydrogen gas?

Producing salt and producing hydrogen gas are not redundant in this reaction. When sodium metal reacts with hydrochloric acid, salt (sodium chloride) is formed along with the release of hydrogen gas.

Sodium Oxide plus Hydrochloric Acid?

Which metal and acid would you use to make sodium chloride?

The metal: sodium. The acid: hydrochloric acid.

Is hydrochloric acid the same as sodium bisulfate?

No, hydrochloric acid is a strong mineral acid composed of hydrogen and chlorine (HCl), while sodium bisulfate is a salt compound composed of sodium, hydrogen, sulfur, and oxygen (NaHSO4). They have different chemical compositions and properties.

Does sodium replace hydrogen in a single replacement reaction?

Yes, in a single replacement reaction, sodium can replace hydrogen in a compound if sodium is more reactive than hydrogen. This involves sodium reacting with a compound containing hydrogen to form sodium compounds and hydrogen gas.
