The word MAJORITY in English is normally a nounbut can also be an adjective. It means "the greater number" or "the excess of the large number of votes cast" in an election.

Examples of its use as a noun as subject of a sentence :-

"A small majority of the population voted for Barrack Obama to become President".

An example of its use as a sentence object might be

" The proposal to go on strike was carried by the majority of members of that Union".

An example of its use as an adjectivein a sentence might be

"The majority opinion of people who vote UKIP seems to be that political correctness is an unacceptable violation of freedom of speech".
