The superior or the upper extremity is served by the subclavian artery and vein. Subclavian means below the clavicle bone.

The largest vessel attached to the heart is the Aorta, and it is responsible for delivering blood to the body. It is categorized in 2 groups, the Ascending Aorta and the Descending Aorta. The Ascending aorta includes the Carotid Arteries, which deliver blood to the brain, and the Subclavian Arteries, which brings blood to the arms. The Descending Aorta is located in the thoracic cavity with the rest of the heart and Aorta and is the part of the Aorta that curves down toward the bottom of the body and branches off into other arteries which supply the bottom portion of the body with blood.
The aortic arch is the area in which the aorta bends in order to descend into the body. It also gives way to three major blood vessels. Thus, the "functions" of the aortic arch are:To bend back the main vessel in order to reach the part of the body below the heart itself;To give off 3 major arteries: the brachiocephalic artery, left common carotid artery, left subclavian artery.
The subclavian vein is a major vein that drains blood from the upper extremities and returns it to the heart. There are two of these veins, and like all large veins supply large amounts of blood from the body.

The lymphatic fluid from the right part of the torso, the right arm, and the right side of the neck and head drain into the right lymphatic duct and then into the right subclavian vein.
