red blood cells are an example of human cells that lack a nucleus. They have a finite life span, approximately 120 days, and because they lack a nucleus, they cannot reproduce (mitosis). They are removed from general circulation, destroyed and replaced. Other eucaryotic cells all have a nucleus.
