A coping saw consists of several key parts: the frame, which holds the blade in tension; the blade itself, which is thin and has fine teeth for intricate cutting; the handle, which provides grip for maneuvering the saw; and the pivot mechanism, allowing the blade to be easily replaced. Additionally, some coping saws may feature a removable blade for added convenience.

There is the grip, which one holds the sword with, the guard, which is of varying sizes depending on the weapon, and the blade, the most important part of the sword. If it is an epee or a foil, there will be a tip that will depress at the end of the blade, as well as wires running to the tip.
