Keep anything older than 1958. The last wheat cents were made in 1958 and usually these carry a value higher than the face value.
Not sure but a good place to look would be on eBay where there are thousands of coins for auction and saleAnswerThere is no such thing as a silver penny. 1963 would have been about the time I was taking high school chemistry. We electroplated dimes with the copper from pennies and pennies with the silver from dimes. Your coin has no numismatic value.
It looks like 2 billion, 7 million dollars in pennies.
Have another look at your coin. King William IV was reigning in 1837, the year he died. All 1837 British Pennies had King William IV on them. The first Queen Victoria Pennies were issued in 1839.

Define "larger sized" The US made no pennies in 1956 except for the small size wheat pennies which are the same size of the pennies today. You may be referring to a commonwealth pre-decimal penny. Since the UK didn't issue any pennies bearing the 1956 date, it is likely another country, if you look at the legend it should tell you what country it is from.
The best thing to do is simply look at some of the coins in your pocket change, of course!
They don't. 50 is an integer, not a fraction.

unfortunately, 1 cent. all pennies made in 1959 or after, are worth 1 cent in any circulated condition. Many thanks for your answer, but the coin in question is an 1859 one cent piece, not 1959. I understand there are a number of variations to this coin, what should I look for?Frank Lowinger
No. The best way to explain this is to look at it as 100 pennies, which equals a dollar. Three pennies would be 3% of a dollar, and 75 pennies would be 75% of a dollar (or 3/4 of a dollar). 3 percent is equal to 0.03, or 3/100, while 75 percent is equal to 0.75, or 75/100. Therefore, 3 percent is much, much less than 75 percent.
