It would first depend on the child's father, was he Indian and if so how much? If his father was not Indian that the child would be considered 50% by the governments standards. Some tribes go by percentages to be a tribal member while other tribes go by rolls, the government has a strange way of assuming the person on the original roll is 100% if they could even sign their name the descendants might not be considered Indian by the tribe even if they are 100%. DNA testing is a scientific way to determine Indian heritage but is frowned upon by most Native Americans. By my account a illegitimate child of a full blooded Native American women would be just as much Indian than most Indians currently in tribes.
