There are lots of children between the ages of 6-9years that I know of, that can not button or zip or tie anything! This is a big concern to me! My 6 year old seems to have an easier time with his fine motor skills, but my 8 yr. old cannot tie his own shoes still, I have bought him special books and showed him over and over again! His handwritting is terrible, and his train of thought seems slower than most kids! He gets distracted easily! And this seems to be a pattern with lots of kids his age between 8-9 years olds. Seems to be a problem to me!
