Assuming this is asking about the popular belief among various religions in the world; including modern professing Christianity, that "when people die, they don't really die but go somewhere else to live" -- generally thought of as "heaven or hell."
To hear some religions describe it... a great percentage of people are in heaven, even now, enjoying blissful, restful, idle lives of eternal retirement. Some, spending eternity satisfying sexual and culinary appetites. Some portray these "living/dead" loved ones in heaven forever reclining on a cloud, looking down on family members struggling and suffering on earth, which, one would think, would put a damper on said "bliss."
But different religions claim only their followers go to heaven while everyone else is sentenced to eternity in hell.
It raises the question whether "heaven is departmentalized" to keep all these selfish, bickering religious people in this life eternally separated from each other there? Or do they suddenly get along with one another once they get to the one-and-only heaven?
It would seem that each religion... as well as each denomination WITHIN each religion has a different story to tell, as to what "percentage" of people "go to heaven."
The Lord Jesus Christ, on the other hand, who created the universe [John 1:3]... has been in the "third heaven" of His Father's throne -- and who knows who is there and who isn't; tells us that:
"THERE IS NO ONE WHO HAS GONE UP TO HEAVEN, but there is One who has come down from heaven, namely the Son of Man whose Home is in heaven." (John 3:13 WEY Weymouth's New Testament)
The percentage of "heaven-bound" people continues to vary according to the "personal opinion" of each individual you ask. Including modern professing Christianity, that apparently doesn't believe Christ's assertion on the matter of going to heaven at all.
But Jesus tells us that NO MAN has ever gone to heaven... except for Himself, who came from there.
So, if Jesus is to be believed by anyone... that would put the answer as an infinitesimally low percentage.
it depends if your good or not if bad no heaven if good heaven :)
Many believe that physically, the person's spirit leaves the body and goes to either Heaven or Hell. Catholics believe that the spirit goes to Pergatory. Some people believe that when people die, they simply cease to exist.
if you were a nice and good person, than your soul goes to the heaven. But if you were a bad and mean person it goes to the hell. And its burns at the hell.
Yes. Good people stay in heaven forever after they die.
The Underworld in Greek mythology is a place where everyone goes when they die, the bad the good, everyone. There is no heaven or hell.In Christian mythology it is thought the good people go to Heaven while the bad people or 'sinners' go to Hell.
Only God knows where a person goes when they die.
