Both phones have a number of similarities, but have varying degrees of strength on features. Both phones have a Super AMOLED screen, but the Galaxy Nexus has a larger and higher-pixeled screen (4.65, 720x1280 pixels vs. the One S' 4.3 inches, 540x960 pixels). Both phones have Android's Jelly Bean OS installed, but the One S tops out at version 4.1.1, while the Galaxy Nexus goes to 4.3. The One S has a better camera (8 MP rear shooter vs. the Galaxy Nexus' 5 MP). CPU-wise, the the One S has a slightly faster CPU, so navigation through the OS and apps will be a little bit ahead. The Galaxy Nexus has a slightly better GPU.

The Samsung Nexus S was an evolution of the original HTC Nexus One's design and hardware. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was a leap forward from that design, going with a significantly larger display, better chipset and CPU/GPU, a much improved design, and was arguably the first widely commercially-available and advertised Nexus device.

You can use an unlocked Nexus One in the UK. If you should buy it or not is up to you. :-)
No it will not. The Nexus One ran only on GSM networks, while Sprint runs on CDMA.
At the time of its release, the Nexus One was available for T-Mobile and AT&T. But, most of the sales were for the unlocked version.
I PHONE 3GS is my answer. Although nexus has higher processor, camera and ram and so does its internet speed but this does not mean that you buy it. i phone 3gs has its own advantages i.e: more memory and sensitive touch screen. Moreover its look more stylish and the zoom in/out feature it gives is marvelous. In addition to these i phone 3gs has its own brand image and it looks more precious than nexus one in the user hand. I believe that its not only the specifications which matters but also the quality and the name which i phone 3gs posses. Nexus one will take years to make this image.
