No piercings should be done with a gun. Its unsafe because it causes trauma (more pain) and the gun cant be autoclaved, which is the only way to prevent spread of disease,

What is the Legal age for navel piercings in Michigan?

I believe that it is the same anywhere in the US. 16 with parent/guarding consent, 18 without it. That goes for any piercings, except ear lobes which can be done with a gun (the only piercing that is done with a gun). But you'll still need parental consent.

How long should ear pircings hurt for after getting them done?

Piercings done with a piercing gun can hurt for several days after the piercing has been done. Piercings done by a professional body piercer using needles generally only hurt momentarily and off and on (twinges) for 24 hours post piercing.

If you close your normal ear piercings and pierce them higher will the previous holes reopen?

Well if you have had the first piercings over a year then the chances of them closing completely are slim to none. This is why we encourage people to get the piercings done by professional body piercers instead of piercing gun salons, placement is very important to the look people are after, you just can't do that with a piercing gun. As for the piercings reopening the chances are high that it just may happen.

What is the percentage of side effects for a cartilage piercing?

90% of professionally pierced ear cartilage piercings work out without any issues, these are piercings done by a professional body piercer using aseptic techniques. 70% of ear cartilage piercings done with a piercing gun in a mall or hair salon result in bumps, lumps and healing issues, these are piercings performed by untrained and unlicensed individuals using piercing guns on areas they are not permitted to pierce but they do it any way.

How many ear piercings can you get at one time i was planning on getting five piercings total three on my right and two on my left. i was going to buy those individual piercing gun things...?

Dont waste your money on the piercing gun thingies, go see a professional piercer and get the piercings laid out the way you want them to look. those piercing gun kits are generally made of cheap low grade metal studs and the layer effect cant be done with them the way the gun is designed. Maximum piercings is 3 in one day, any more and the body is taxed too much. Do one ear one day then the other a couple of days later. Check with you local body piercing studio, they will often work out package deals for multiple piercings.

How long can a jacob's ladder piercing stay out before growing closed?

The longer you had jewellery in the piercings, and they have become seasoned piercings (over a year old) then the piercings can remain viable for several weeks (this also depends on the gauge the piercings were done at).
