Doctors really try to stay away from giving young adult/teens/children depression medications because it increases the risk of suicide because the brain hasn't fully developed yet. If you are extremely depressed, then I would go and talk to your doctor about it. There are other ways to stop depression when you are that age without the help and dependency on medications.
