When the Trans Alaska Pipeline was constructed it was illegal to ship any of the oil from Alaska to other countries. Then during the Clinton Administration when oil was $8 a barrel, that law was changed. For 2 years Alyeska Pipeline Terminal shipped to Japan and South Korea a total of 5 times. They decided that this was not cost effective and now they no longer ship there. This was years ago. Now all the oil goes to refineries in Washington state, California and Hawaii. It provides most of the fuel in the Northwestern States. None of it leaves the country.
I have this information because I live in Valdez, Alaska. Where the end of the Trans Alaska Pipeline is located and the oil is shipped from. I receive my information from locals including family members who work at the Alyeska Pipeline Terminal (some of who are managers).
An electron reaches zero energy when it is at rest or in a state of lowest energy level, typically in an atom's ground state.
About 40% of the energy derived from glucose is converted to ATP through cellular respiration. The rest is released as heat.
Approximately 1% of light energy is converted to chemical energy in the ocean through photosynthesis by marine plants and algae. The rest of the light energy is reflected, refracted, or absorbed by the water.
For an electron to move to a higher energy level, energy must be added to the atom, thus bumping it up to higher levels. As it falls back down to the normal energy level, it gives off (emits) energy, as it falls to rest. When at rest in the normal level, it is called being in the "ground" state, and is stable.
Kinetic energy is energy related to movement. The formula is (1/2) mass times velocity squared. Potential energy is energy of position. The formula for gravitional potential energy is mgh (mass times gravitation times height).
From my research I have found out that the pipeline is an electrical pipeline that allows oils to travel all around the United States.
The oil from the pipeline doesn't stay in the United States, but is put on oil tankers and sold overseas.
no.
Primary producers, such as plants and algae, bring the most energy into an ecosystem through photosynthesis. They convert sunlight into food energy, which is then passed on to the rest of the organisms in the food chain.
the northeast part of Alaska is covered by what wilderness refuge
Alaska is connected to Canada on the west side of the U.S.
Alaska has the same president as the rest of the United States, namely Barack Obama.
Hawaii and Alaska... Being an island group, and a territory bought from russia.
Alaska is a land mass attached to the rest of North America. It is not going to melt away.
Canada shares borders with both Alaska and with the contiguous US.
rest.
Energy at rest is potential energy. It is stored energy that has the potential to be transformed into kinetic energy when an object is in motion.
