The Germans did a blitz on Great Britain during World War 2.
Because the Britsh just shot down their bomber planes in the day and so they started bombing in the night.
They used nuclear and atomic bombs.
45 Germans, there was also 5 others from surrounding countries involved (these were the men in charge), there was 10 main planes, other planes followed these and carried the bombs.
It was called Blitzkrieg- Blitz means "lightning" and Krieg means "war". Interestingly, the Germans didn't actually use the term. It was an invention of Western (mainly British) journalists to describe the new tactics being employed by the Germans in the early campaigns of World War II.
