The open ocean zones or the pelagic ecosystems are areas that are far away from the coasts and just above the sea bed.
The open ocean zones lack nutrients that are needed for growth of plants. Due to this, these areas mainly have microphytoplanktons and macro algae.
The euphotic zone
The sunlight zone. Most animal and plant life use the sun to stay alive. The most plant life is found here. There is life in all zones in the ocean but the sunlight zone has the most.
The epipelagic zone of the ocean is where most life lives.
Dragon fish live in the abyssopelagic zone of the open ocean.
surface/ open ocean zone was warmer than the deep ocean. Sunlight can reach the open ocean so the temp. is warm.
This depends partly on the species, or population of the Sea Turtle. Many live in the sunlight zone or the "euphotic zone", while others spend part of their life in the open-ocean zone or the "pelagic zone". For more details, see the sites listed below.
