Where can you find plugin resources for wordpress?
I get everything I need through wordpress.org. I am not positive but I think the plugins are vetted/tested if they appear on the official site. Go to wordpress.org>> Plugins>>search using a keyword that matches your needs. I also go through the site so I can keep a copy of the zip file then manually upload into the site I am working on. I do that because sometimes newer versions are not as good as the ones I may be using. If you need a contact form for example, do the steps above and search for 'contact form'. Choose from the many types (it pays to take time to read at least the excerpts to see if it meets your needs, rather than testing tons live and wasting your time). I use ContactForm 7 so I would go to the page and download the zip file to my hard drive, then go to your Wordpress admin>>plugins>>add new>>upload (link)>>choose file to browse to your zip file, click install now button, activate to use. When I use Google, I search 'Wordpress plugins [keyword]' but inevitably end up back on Wordpress.org. If you are running WP 3.x, and don't care about archiving your plugins, just go to Plugins>>add new>> and use the search box there. It does the install, and it's faster, but you don't get the backup .zip file.
