The boiling point of a substance is the point at which that substance will change between being a gas and a liquid.
For example, the boiling point of water is 100oC, so water vapour will change to water at this temperature.
The boiling point of Methane is -161oC, so any temperature above this, Methane will be in gas form.
This temperature is called the melting point.
The melting point is different for each substance.

Freezing and melting points are synonyms: at this temperature a solid become a liquid or a liquid become a solid.
The definition of a boiling point is that temperature where a liquids turns to a gas. A solid would need to become liquid to discern it's boiling point.
