Coolidge was very popular and escaped his political problems, at least for the most part, by not seeking another term. Economic times were good and people approved of his isolationistic foreign policy. If he had stayed in office, the depression would have been a major problem as well as the Germans and Japanese who were planning for a war of conquest.
