No part of Ireland is controlled by England. The Republic of Ireland is independent. Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, which also includes Scotland, Wales and England. There are those four parts and none of them control the others.

The island of Ireland has four provinces; Munster, Leinster, Connaught and Ulster. 6 of the 9 counties in the province of Ulster in Ireland, which is referred to as Northern Ireland, is still part of the UK which gives the UK its full title of The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
