How can you set up two USB ports to run three devices?

Buy a USB hub and connect to one of the USB ports. This splits any one USB port into 4 or 7 ports(depending on the model of hub).

What is pvid?

A Port VLAN ID (pvid) is a default VLAN ID that is assigned to an access port to designate the virtual LAN segment to which this port is connected. The pvid places the port into the set of ports that are connected under the designated VLAN ID. Also, if a trunk port has not been configured with any VLAN memberships, the virtual switch's Port VLAN ID (pvid) becomes the default VLAN ID for the ports connection.

You want to open a port any port to run a utorrent?

You want to open the port that uTorrent is using. You can set that port in uTorrent at Options>Preferences>Connection. Opening the port will greatly help speeds. To open the port, you need to set an exception in any firewall, software or hardware (router), on your system. This guide has info to help with that: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/optimizing-torrent-speed.htm

Set up of multiple monitor in one CPU?

If you have multiple monitor ports the set up is easy, just plug in the other one. Without alternate ports you would probably need to have some sort of splitter set up for the monitor port or find another connection for the monitor, like USB.

Why are some fast ethernet ports on the switches are up and others are down?

If a FastEthernet port is set to down/down, there is most likely a physical issue with the switch. Typically, ports should be set to up/down.

Why does Modern Warfare 2 stick when connecting to IWnet?

If you're having problems connecting, make sure you've got the correct Router ports opened or triggered, both for the PS3 & PSN, and the specific MW2 ports as well.ROUTER NAT AND UPnP MODES - ENABLED*Note: Make sure to enable these TCP/UDP ports in BOTH directions (i.e, for Routers that have TCP, UDP, and Both for settings, set them to Both. If your Router doesn't have that type of setting, set the Port to either TCP or UDP as indicated, and enable the pass-through in both directions (full duplex))TCP Ports: 10070 - 10080 UDP Ports: 10070 Voice Chat: UDP 6000-7000, 10070 (for headset operation) Remote Play via Access Point: TCP 9293PLAYSTATION Network: TCP Ports: 80, 443, 5223 UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658Call of Duty - MW2 Ports:TCP 27014-27050 UDP 1500, 3005, 3101, 27000-27030, 28960It's easier to use Port Range Forwarding or Triggering instead of Single Port Forwarding. In those cases where there isn't a range but only a single port listed, your range is the same port, e.g., Range 5223-5223 for Port 5223. Port Triggering is also preferable to Port Forwarding, since Triggering relies on the game or application in question to trigger the Port request when necessary to the Router. Static Port Forwarding setups keep your Ports open as long as they are enabled in the Router setting, and as such are more vulnerable. Trigger Ports are only open as long as the game or application needs them to be open.

How do I turn off certain programs access to port 110?

Set the firewall rule to block/deny any packets to port 110. You could also not use your email client, which uses port 110. Programs themselves can be blocked on certain ports by more advanced firewalls.

How are ports used on a web server?

When two programs on the same computer want to access the internet, they will each use a different port. For example, if you are chatting on AIM and browsing the web at the same time, web traffic will go through port 80 and AIM traffic will go through port 5190. That way when data comes back to the computer, it can be directed either to AIM (if it comes in on 5190) or the web browser (if it comes into port 80). If you are choosing a port manually for some reason, it doesn't usually matter what you choose as long as that port number is not in use by another program. Pick a big random number and you are safe. -DJ Craig

Which is the better ports among all the ports of the computer?

i assume you mean which port should you set an application such as torrent to use? it depends what your using .... they all basically do the same job, i wouldn't assign anything to run on port 80 (HTTP or web browsing) 8080 (also web browsing i think) 21 (FTP downloads) or 443 (Secure connections like on line banking) as these are used alot, and if you have an application running in the background on this port it will cause problems, there are other ports which are "major" ports too not to use but i cant remember off the top of my head, personally, for utorrent i favour port 100 as the "usual" ports (IE high end) are throttled by my ISP.If you mean Networking ports (ie LAN wireless etc.) go for LAN (or Ethernet) it will guarantee you the top speed you are getting through your router
