What prayers do nuns say?

As there are at least 200 religious orders for women ( some very small) there is considerable variety in practices such as basic prayers. Each order has its own constitution and operating practices. These differ widely. The visitation order bans pets but tolerates utility animals. ( it also bans gambling- Good!) On the other hand the nature-love of St. Francis would show a quite different angle. There are different variations of even such basic orders as the Franciscans and the Dominicans both named in honor of Saints Francis of Assisi and Domenic. as there is a special Oration of San Francisco ( Lord make me an instrument of they peace> etc) this is typical of an in-house religious prayer, obviously popular with the Franciscans. there are even variations in such basic things- also prayer oriented as the mass itself- the Dominican Mass is said at a more rapid pace, for example. If you are really interested in this why not look up a local Convent in the phone book and ask one of the nuns specific questions. as the majority of nuns are in the teaching apostolate, they would be ideally qualified to answer your queries, like asking Vets about certain weapons and tactics - it"s is up their ( Convent) alley. Nuns like all Catholics pray because our Lord Jesus Christ told us to pray (The Lords Prayer) and we are told by scripture to pray without ceasing! see 1 Thes 5:17
