One of the prerequisites for graduate school is completion of a bachelor's degree.
Pediatrics is a branch of medical science that focuses on the health and medical care of children (from birth to adolescence). Pediatricians are medical doctors who specialize in this field and are trained to diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses in children.
Within the United States, you must have a bachelor's degree with the appropriate prerequisites completed.
Individuals who pursue medical school come from a variety of educational backgrounds. One of my friends was accepted to medical school with a degree in English, while another friend was accepted with a degree in music. The critical issue will be the prerequisites needed, the grades received, volunteer work, research, activities, etc.
No, medical schools require an individual completes the bachelor's degree and all the prerequisites needed. A few medical schools offer combined undergraduate and medical school programs that last 6 years rather than the customary 8 years.

It takes four years for the bachelor's degree with completion of all the appropriate prerequisites, and four years of medical school. There will be an additional three to eight years to complete the internship and residency requirements.
Enough to have graduated from Medical School.
First, make sure you are in a college prep program. You must develop a strong foundation in the following areas. * Biology * Chemistry * Physics * Higher level maths * Communication skills (written and oral) * Computer literacy * development of good critical thinking skills The above will give you the foundation for the college coursework in the same areas which are prerequisites for medical school.
Pre-med is not a degree. It is typically a program within a degree to ensure an individual who will be pursing a medical degree has all the appropriate prerequisites required for medical school. In essence, students who wish to apply to medical school come from a variety of disciplines.

Why not go to a graduate program in environmental science rather than medical school? Or Epidemiology? Having the two degrees you mention would make it very difficult to get into a medical school because you lack the science prerequisites to even attempt the MCAT entrance exam. You would need at least 2 years (possibly more) to get the prerequisites in the sciences before applying to medical school. Of course, you could go to a medical school with the idea of graduating with a PHd rather than an MD degree, but the same comments apply.
