Best Answer

Chimpanzees and bonobos. They are great apes ( a category that also includes gorillas, orangutans, and humans.) They share 98.7% of the same DNA as humans. They have complex emotional lives, and strong family bonds, which last a lifetime. a human could even have a blood transfusion from either species. Unfortunately, both are endangered.

Which primates is mostly related to modern humans?

Chimpanzees are our closest living relative. We share 98% of their dna codes.

What primates are closely related to modern humans a cro-magnon b homo erectus c homo habilis d australopithecus afarensis?

Cro-Magnon are early modern humans, closely related to modern humans. Homo erectus is an extinct species in the human evolutionary tree, distantly related to modern humans. Homo habilis and Australopithecus afarensis are more distant relatives, with Homo habilis considered a direct ancestor of Homo erectus and eventually modern humans.

Are neanderthals apes?

No, Neanderthals were a distinct species of the Homo genus, closely related to modern humans. They are not classified as apes, which are a different family of primates that includes gorillas, chimpanzees, and orangutans.

What is theory of man?

Humans are primates. Apes, monkeys, chimpanzees, etc. are also primates.Skeletons of primates that lived millions of years ago show that the ancestors of humans have changed from rather short hunched and probably furry primates that lived in groups and used stone tools to Homo erectus to the modern human. The theory is that all primates probably had a common ancestor but due to separation of groups, environmental factors and random genetic mutations, speciation occurred and different groups of primates became increasingly different from each other. Modern primates do not look like their distant ancestors after millions of years and each species of modern primates are different from each other. The great ape is different from lemurs and humans. Humans are unique in having the ability to excavate, document and study the remains of organisms that lived millions of years ago.Just as birds had a common ancestor with dinosaurs as did, perhaps reptiles, humans had a common ancestor with other mammals.

What do you call early ancestors of humans?

Australopithicans Homo habilis homo erectus

Write a sentence with the word hominid?

Who is closest relative to modern humans?

Homo erectus is the closest known relative to modern humans.

Are modern humans neanetherlands or cro-magnons?

Modern humans are mostly related to the cro-magons, but there is some evidence that the Neanderthals (nee-ANN-der-talls) were ancestors of some modern humans.

Which primate is closest relative of modern man?

Bonobos , Orang utans and Chimps. Bonobos share 99% of their DNA with us. Orang utans share 96.4% of their DNA with us and Chimpanzees share 98.5% of their DNA with us humans... who knows there might be a type of primate out there that has not been discovered yet that shares more of their DNA with us the Bonobos.

What does hominid and homo spaiens mean?

Hominid refers to the group of primates that includes humans and their ancestors. Homo sapiens is the scientific name for modern humans, distinguishing them from other species within the Homo genus.

Where do human being come from based on science?

The fossil record of human development, and that of many animals, remains incomplete. So, human lineage is still unclear to science. But, the most common theory, with much evidence backing it up, is that modern humans evolved from early primates, as did modern apes and chimpanzees. Almost all studies indicate that, of the modern primates, humans are most closely related to chimpanzees*.*Modern chimpanzee DNA differs from modern human DNA by less than 2%, and an extra chromosome for the chimps. However, while there appears to have been common ancestry, the chimpanzee line would have genetically split, some four to seven million years ago.

What group animals includes modern humans?

Modern humans belong to a group called hominids. Homo sapiens, or humans, are the only surviving species of hominids. Hominids are part of a larger group of animals called primates, which includes monkeys and apes. Humans are also mammals.
