He is moved by his heart, to follow the principle in its various aspects. An example of a principle is the Golden Rule. Matthew 7:12: "All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them." Followers of Confucius observe the principles of li and jen, which address such qualities as kindness, humility, respect, and loyalty. Even people who are not religious have some priorities or guidelines that determine their conduct. Another Bible principle is about 'faithfulness'. Understanding this would preclude adultery, for which there is a Bible law. Since many Israelites did not live by 'principles', God provided specific laws; and specified punishment.
