THE BEST PRINTER FOR AN iMAC IS CALLED "CANON PIXMA iP2600" AND THE PRICE RANGE IS BETWEEN $50-$60 SO IS REALLY INEXPENSIVE FOR STUDENTS AND PEOPLE THAT JUST WANT A PRINTER I use a Brother HL-5240. It's a USB printer so it just plugs into the side of the iMac, it speaks PostScript so you get the best looking output, it's reasonably inexpensive at $200, and the toner cartridges it uses last a long time. Plus, it's very fast at max print speed of 30ppm.
