Global warming has caused many bad things. The Arctic will melt and the sea level will rise causing low land countries and coastal cities to flood due to the rise of heat. There will be more severe weather like hurricanes, Tsunamis or droughts. In desserts it will rain and areas like the bush will become dessert. Animals will not be able to manage the change and will die. Some of these things are starting to happen and will only get worse if we do not stop global warming. It may even become the next ice age if we don't stop it.

"The Arctic": Note that the North Polar Ice-cap will make no difference to sea-level because it is simply floating ice. It's thawing the terrestrial ice, such as that covering Greenland, that will make a difference.

Tsunamis: These are caused by earthquakes, NOT climate change.

"If we do not stop global warming... may become the 'next' ice-age". The bleak truth is that whatever mankind is doing to the climate is merely altering the rate of change of an inevitable, natural process. We are IN AN Ice-age: a series of climate oscillations; and the Earth's climate is relatively cool at the moment.

We are warming anyway, either still thawing from the last glacial maximum, or at the end of the Ice Age. Yes, continued warming may trigger the next glaciation - eventually, it won't be an overnight sensation. Or it could keep going, and then Heaven help our far-off descendants. You and I will luckily be long dead by then unless you discover the Elixir of Life.

The bleak summary is that Man's activities are merely affecting something that will happen anyway and which we CAN NOT stop happening. We can only buy time.

Rising sea levels because the warm oceans expand, and the glaciers and icecaps are melting too, adding to the rise.

Cities like New Orleans and London already need storm barrages to protect against floods. Any further rise in sea levels will cause them, and many other countries too, problems.
