Conduction is simply a transfer of heat. Let's say we have a hot pan and a person's hand. The molecules of the pan are moving very quickly because the temperature is so high. When a person touches the pan, he or she is really touching the very fast moving molecules of the pan that are incredibly hot.

Would one of these produces or transfers heat light or conduction or friction or all of these?

Friction produces heat by converting mechanical energy into thermal energy. Light is produced by sources such as the sun or light bulbs. Conduction transfers heat through direct contact between materials. So, friction produces heat, light is emitted, and conduction transfers heat.

What are the four basic uses of the energy produced by respiration?

produces energy for maintenance and repair of cells and tissues; produces energy for muscular activities and movement; prodices energy for nerve impulse conduction in animals and people; produces energy for light bioluminescent organisms.

What type of heat transfer occurs when particles bump into each other?

It produces chemical reactions n makes you make out with people!

Is a conductor of energy a physical or chemical change?

The conductor of energy is not a physical change. The conduction of energy happens due to a chemical bonding of specific metals. A conductor of energy produces a flow of electrical charges.

Does a blanket keep you warm because of conduction or convection?

A blanket keeps you warm primarily through conduction. It traps the heat your body produces and prevents it from escaping by creating a layer of warm air around you. Convection plays a minor role as the warm air trapped by the blanket also circulates around your body.

Is thermal conduction the same as conduction?

Yes, thermal conduction and conduction are often used interchangeably. Thermal conduction specifically refers to the transfer of heat through a material due to a temperature difference.
