It was claimed by the makers of the Geniac ( believed to be Berkeley sales- not related to the University in California) a hobby-kit computing device marketed in the late fifties and floating around electronics stores as late as the early seventies that some variant of there device could be used as a ( machine to compose music) exactly how this worked, or was supposed to work was not discussed in the catalog ads,these devices were peddled as electronic kits by the now-defunct but fondly remembered Lafayette electronics stores.
