We live in a "military Dictatorship" from 1964 to 1985, where we had a two-party system (ie, there were only two political parties) where we were ruled by candidates chosen by the military that we would have no right to exercise our citizenship. But in 1979, began to occur some changes that allowed the return of democratic freedom of our nation. The two-party system (only two parties) gave way to political reform that allowed the creation of more parties within the country
In 1988 was established in the constitution the right to direct vote in 1989 and had our first opportunity to exercise our freedom of expression through direct elections.
