It depends which part of your software takes care of integrity check of received packages. If you want OS takes care of it, you have to use TCP. If you know how to create software which can fix transmission problems/errors you need to use UDP because it's faster.
The protocol that operates on the application layer and facilitates the sharing of resources like files, printers, and serial ports among computers is called the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. SMB allows applications to read and write to files and request services from server programs in a networked environment. It is commonly used in Windows networks for file and printer sharing.
Interfacing. Keyboard, punch cards, VOX, mouse, Monitors, printers, scanners or other interface devices.
It is possible to share a printer on a network. For example: two computers sharing one printer while the computers are connected to a home network (local Area Network - LAN). To share files between two computers, mark a folder or drive as shared - search Google on sharing files for more info.
Sharing printers between Macs and Windows PCs is quite doable and should not present any major problems. Apple support has information about possible problems. (See links below)
Samba is a version of the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol. It enables file and print sharing between computers running Linux or UNIX and those running Windows. By implementing SMB, Samba allows for seamless interoperability and resource sharing across different operating systems.
There are numerous ways to share files, including a direct file transfer via Bluetooth, email, flash drives, and applications like Dropbox. The best protocol can be circumstantial and varies greatly based on the capabilities available.

SMB is an acronym for: service message block.
A network
parallel operating system is tha sharing of data between two computers....... Distributing system is the sharing of data among different computers....
Networks allow the sharing of files, printers and other resources. Networks also allow an administrator to control the security settings on all computers which are connected to it through Active Directory.
