I'm going to assume you're talking about lucid dreaming, and how to know if someone was really lucid in a dream. IF that's the case, I can tell you this:
A lucid dream is normally defined as "knowing that you are dreaming while in a dream", and this definition is a good introduction to the concept. There are, however, various 'levels' of this experience. For example, many of us have had dreams where we may know we are dreaming, but only use this knowledge for convenience (I'm dreaming, so it doesn't matter if i do this). This experience hardly compares to an intentional lucid dream in terms of awareness, attitude, and overall intensity. The former experience is often called a "pre-lucid dream" or sometimes a low-level lucid dream.
Even intentional lucid dreams can vary in terms of quality and lucidity, some being vague memories of realizing you're dreaming and then forgetting about it, and others being vivid, emotionally charged experiences of the dream realm. I would say that a lucid dream is an in-dream awareness that is intentional, or at least awakens you to the implications of being aware in a dream (I'm dreaming, so this world around me is not normal reality, so i can do things i normally can't do, etc.)

Ask people to ask you more questions, or find one of those formspring people who do spam (ask many questions at once).
The question probably means to ask about "DILD" and "WILD" lucid dreams. These words stand for "Dream Initiated Lucid Dreaming" and "Wake Initiated Lucid Dreaming." The first refers to entering a lucid state from within a dream while the second refers to entering directly into a lucid dream from being awake.
