If the gas wasn't ignited while you were there, and you didn't pass out from lack of oxygen... none (no side effects). Natural gas is mainly methane gas with a little odor added so that you'll know somthing is wrong if you smell it. By itself, methane isn't toxic unless it replaces all of the oxygen in the air. It becomes a problem if it ignites.
