What is the race Filipinos belong to?

Filipinos are also called Asians insofar as geography since the Philippine Archipelagos are closer to the Asian continent; but, since the Philippines is comprised of archipelagos (groups of islands) and lies on the Pacific Ocean, wouldn't it be more accurate to call the Filipinos "Pacific Islanders"?With regards to RACE, Filipinos are of the BROWN RACE, the MALAY RACE, as defined by skin tone (brown or as they say, morena), facial bone structure and easily seen in the shapes of the nose and lips (i.e.,thickness of-), hair strand thickness, and color (black), typical height would be in the 4'10"-5' (5'1" or 2" is already considered tall). Remember, RACE is NOT DEFINED by skin tone alone but a combination of the above. There are only 5 races in the world: Caucasian (white), Ethiopian (black), Mongolian (yellow), Americans* (red), and Malay (brown). The Americans referred to are the Indians from the American continents, and Ethiopians or the black race are individuals of African descent. Most everybody would know who the Caucasians are--they originate from the European Continent, and it is easy to tell who belongs in the Mongolian race, --such as the Chinese;while the Malays or the brown race are the Thais, Indonesians, Burmese, Filipinos, Malaysians,..etc. and the Pacific Islanders. Take note, Mexicans are not of the brown race. Mexicans are either Caucasians, or, Americans.Quite often nowadays, --of the Malays or Brown race--people get confused since a big number of the nations where these races are from have now been mixed with Chinese, and whose descendants now have a mixed blood of Chinese and Malay. It is my opinion that your race would be the one that has a higher ratio of blood in proportion to the other mix.Race is NOT simply geographical. Of all the races, the Caucasians exceeds all the others in number, and they live in all the 7 continents. Anyone coming from the Asian Continent can be called "Asian", but it would not define that individual's race since you will find people of all colors living there. The Asian Continent is made up of countries with people of different races. We cannot single it out as being yellow just because it is dominated in size and population by China. Let's not forget that living on the other side of their northern border are a lot of Caucasians, and on the south are countries with a high majority of the Malays or Brown race. Then there is the term "oriental", meaning "of the Orient", referring to any item brought back to Europe by the colonizers that came from the Orient, or the "Far East".It also came to be and the term Oriental was used derogatorily by the Europeans back then when referring to a Chinese or Japanese.NO, Filipinos are not Orientals. Filipinos are of the Brown Race. Filipinos are Malays. Filipinos are Asians, or Pacific Islanders (since they live on islands on the Pacific). Some Filipinos are also 'hyphenated' , and prefer to distinguish themselves that way because of their mixed blood. Although it is a mix of blood (race), the added hyphenated name is more of the nationality, as in; Filipino-American, Filipino-Irish, Filipino-Chinese, etc... Some of these terms sound better reversed, and so goes--Chinese-Filipino,Spanish-Filipino....-------------"Pacific Islanders (since they live on islands on the Pacific)"--------------That is not exactly true. Filipinos, Japanese, and Indonesians are excluded from the list of "Pacific Islanders".------------------------------------Let's add some correct information. Filipinos are neither Malay or Pacific Islander. The Malay Race, is simply another word for "Austronesians". Filipinos belong to the Austronesian race, a race encompassing all the way from Africa's Madagascar, through the entire maritime Southeast Asia and Oceania. Pacific Islander is a cultural identity, and Filipinos do not follow any Samoan, Tongan, or Fijian traditions such as drinking kava-kava and lighting monoliths and such. Filipinos do not speak Malay or follow Malay customs. The idea of a Malay race is outdated.
