you can leave them off but if you do all the dirt and dust bugs will get in to your engine and kill it pro racers dont take them off the use a diffrent set up than most normal cars. with you being in such a wet area the moister will colect in side and rust everthing up over time. I would leave them on no mater what but it is your car
