How many latitude are on a globe?

That's like asking: "How many lengths are on a ruler?" Latitudes span a range of 90° south to 90° north, for a total range of 180°. There are an infinite number of possibilities between those limits.

What is the longitude south and latitude west of Russia?

Latitude is the coordinate for which you have a choice of north or south. The Russian Federation extends over a range of 46.4 degrees of latitude. None of it is south latitude. Longitude is the coordinate for which you have a choice of east or west. The Russian Federation extends over a range of 162.8 degrees of longitude. Only 10.2 degrees of that span is west longitude. 152.6 degrees of it is all east longitude. In only ten short words, the question strikes out in at least four major ways ... undoubtedly some sort of record.

Which tropic line crosses Australia?

Australia extends over a range of 10°5' south to 43°36' south ... a span of about 33.5 degrees of latitude. There is no official set of lines to which you're limited or restricted, and you're free to draw as manyor as few lines through this range of latitude as you're comfortable with. The only named line of latitude which crosses Australia is the Tropic of Capricorn.

Another word for a latitude line?

Latitude lines never touch, so they are sometimes called "parallels".

Indicator that spans a range of 0 to 14?

The range of an instrument or any type of equipment are the ultimate limits for which it has been designed / constructed. A part of the measuring range is normally indicated as the span which complies with the calibrated standard output. The span is always smaller or equal to the range. For exampe a pressure transmitter range of 0 to 100 barg can be calibrated to measure a span of 20 - 80 barg and so the span is 60 barg. Note that the range still determines the accuracy !

How does the range vary in a set of numbers?

Range is the span of your y values for each x

What is the signal span of an instrument with an output range of 4-20 mA and an input range of 0-200 psi?

This question is using two instrumentation terms which are often incorrectly used interchangeably. The range of an instrument is the measurement of which it is capable and the span is the measurement for which it is calibrated. The span can equal the range or be less than the range. Whatever span you have calibrated the transmitter to will be represented by the 4-20ma output. In this case, if the instrument has a measurement range of 200psi, you could adjust the span for 200 psi, but it would corrspond with the maximum range of 200psi, possibly introducing inaccuracies when operating near the end of the range. It would be preferable to select a device with a range of 250psi and then adjust the span so that 200 psi causes a full scale output of 20ma. This is a span of 80% of the range. (200/250) The output of the transmitter is selected during design of a certain range which will be compatible with the other equipment in the loop. Standards are 4-20ma, 10-50ma, 0-10v and many others. Standard instrument design procedures will normally try to select an input range that will cause the majority of the normal operation measurements to fall within 20-80% of the range. Absolutely correct ! Note concerning range and span: The range of any type of measuring instrument or device is determined by its physical limitations and so the design and construction of it determines the operational application limits and the aimed accuracy. For latter reason the selection of an instrument depends on both factors. The range is limited by the lowest and highest value that a device is adjusted to measure while the adjusted span is equal or smaller than the range. Note that the accuracy is only established by the range, not the span !

What is span of an instrument?

it is defined as difference between upper and lower range values. eg if range of pressure sensor is 2 to 10 bar then span will be 10-2= 8 bar
