Why do married men have an affair?

Often an affair is at least as much about excitment vs boredom as it is about love. Many people aren't emotionally mature enough to recognize the difference between love and infatuation. Infatuation has a large component of excitment, discovery and intrigue. Mature love is more about commitment, devotion and sincerity. People who participate in affairs tend to have a problem with maturity in one or more areas of their lives. Which is not to say that even mature people can't be tempted, it's just a question of what to do when one IS tempted. Is there enough emotional maturity to recognize the pain that would be caused to a loved one if one were to give in to the temptation. A lot of guys have affairs NOT because they do not love their wives, because they still do. to be blunt, it is for a change of "scenery" or to havve a little strange cat.

Why?..before I give you my answer, let me remind you that women do it too, but most of them has a good reason why. Now to go back to your question, men who do have affairs will say, they have good reason why they go in that direction. some will say that their wife never meet their needs in bed, ( like it will be the end of their world if they can't have sex.) That their wives don't have no time for them, and because of this that's when they start looking for a woman friend. And there are some men that having affairs will help them feel desirable by women not just his wife or girlfriend.

Going back to my first comment, men who do have affairs especially married men will always have this excuse, but one thing for sure, they never thought about their wife who takes care of his home, cooking, washing clothes, buying groceries, taking care of their children or a child, if they have one, and much, much more. Common sense here, do you think if a married men can see or even realize what their wife is doing every single day, when his at work, he will have the rights to say the number one excuse of men, ( not meeting his needs?) Unfortunately not all men does, that is why there's a lot of marriages in trouble, including mine. We all can explain even justify men's excuse why they have affairs but in short, man is man and some of them could only think of themselves.

because there stupid... i mean like if you don't like the girl your with just break up with her/him and go out with the person you truly like. if you like both of them than choose which your most comfortable with and the one that makes you happy most of the time and don't cheat on him/her the girls are more sensitive though.

Wife may have become mommy-all-the-time! (Not sexy) Wifey was slender,had long hair,dressed sexy,came to bed naked and ready! Now fat, hair short, wears 2xL tee shirts-all-the-time, even to bed. First of all, let me say that any sort of affair is wrong. But I can give you some reasons why someone would do such a thing. It's dangerous (and that means exciting. It's a way to bring the spark back in your love life), because they no longer have a loving relationship with their partner, because she fell in love with someone else but it afraid of losing her current partner....

There are many more where that came from. People commit affairs every day, all over the world, and usually do can come up with reasons of their own to do it. It's not the right thing to do obviously, but people do make mistakes.

Reasons why some men have affairs on their wives:

• He is bored with married life.
• He is immature and does not have the tools to work on his marriage.
• He is selfish; self centered and does not care how he may hurt his wife or how she would feel if she found out he was having affairs.
• The wife may be frigid or the sexual relationship is not going well between husband and wife.
• He may want to have his freedom back to date as he chooses, but still keep his wife.

There are other reasons, but the bottom line is once married and a person decides to cheat on their wife they are only thinking of themselves; they are not a man (men would try to work out difficulties in a marriage) and he does not have the backbone to tell the wife he is not happy and either wants to separate or divorce. He wants it all! Eventually the wife will find out and such men who have affairs may well regret the loss of their wife if she files for separation or divorce. Once that bond of trust is broken between spouses it is very difficult to get back.
