What releases the crank locking pawl on my 12ft offset patio umbrella which won't turn CCW since I replaced the rope?

I also just replaced the cord on my offset umbrella. I also don't know how to replace the pawl. Thanks to your heads-up on CCW issues, I will call or e mail TDC USA, Inc. (800-599-8898 &/or support@tdcusainc.com ) this AM. My umbrella is the 10' model but I'm sure the mechanism is the same. TDC sells the product through supermarkets under the brand "GARDENLINE." TDC is located in Fairfield, NJ.
