Absolutely no religion is led by God they are all led by men. In my opinion, it is an absolute lie to claim that in invisible intangible figment of the imagination is actively engaged in the administration of any manmade religion.
No religion is 'led' by God in the way that we usually use the term. However, most adherents to most religions desire to do the will of God. Sadly because of human nature that perception of God's will can be misinterpreted or, worse, grossly warped. This means that we end up with 9/11 bombings, fundamental (even 'Christian') sects that preach lies and hate, and false religions that lead people into cults and the like.
Within the mainstream Christian religion, as one example, a measure of doing God's will is through the Holy Spirit. St Paul makes it very clear in his letters what the 'fruits of the Spirit' are that grow inside someone who is following God's way. These are
- love (agape);
- joy (chara);
- peace (eirene);
- patience (makrothumia);
- kindness (chrestotes);
- goodness (agathosune);
- faithfulness (pistis);
- gentleness (prautes);
- self-control (egkrateia).
So, in a way, through the Holy Spirit, God does have leadership of the Christian religion at least, but not in a worldly way that we would recognise as 'leadership'.
