"Medieval" refers to a period of European history which might begin from 500 AD to 1100 AD and end 1350 AD to 1500 AD. During this time there was little concern about religion. They were all Catholic, which didn't mean much because the Catholic Church simply absorbed local religions with little or no change. So there is no straight answer to your question.
