Pope Benedict was a diocesan priest early on his life in Munich. Diocesan priests commit their lives to serving the people of a diocese, a church administrative region, and generally work in parishes assigned by the bishop of their diocese. Diocesan priests take oaths of celibacy and obedience. He was NOT in a religious order.

He didn't belong to a religious order but was a diocesan priest before he was made a bishop, then a cardinal, before the end of his papacy. A priest in a religious order could be a Pope however.

I wouldn't pay more than about 150 dollars to get the dishwasher repaired. A new dishwasher that is rated in the top 10 of dishwashers can cost as little as 350, so you dont want to pay more than that because it would be easier to just get a new dishwasher.
